noun noun: hygiene
conditions or practices conducive to maintaining health and preventing disease, especially through cleanliness.
Get into it sis !! I am a believer that cleanliness is next to godliness, especially when it comes to your personal hygiene. I wanted to address this topic with an open mind and love to help my fellow sisters out ! So here's the tea, I am an esthetician and I come in contact with a lot of women daily my services are very intimate. I have been an esthetician for 6 years and I've seen a lot, when its regarding hygiene I see a lot of mistakes. I want to educate women on how to properly clean themselves and when it's time to see a physician or make a lifestyle change. I realize that some women may have not had someone to properly teach them how to clean themselves. some parents may have not been comfortable with showing them and that's ok, I'm here to help.
Lets talk about bathing , so when washing the vagina you want to get into every nook and cranny lol literally ! Wash the outer lips (Labia majora) and wash in between the outer lips and the inner lips (Labia minora). You want to wash the vaginal opening as well, don't push soap into the opening that may offset your natural bacteria and cause irritation or infection. Some people prefer to wash their vagina with their bare hands or even no soap , me personally I do not recommend that method. Washing with a feminine soap made just for your vagina with a clean washcloth is a great way to properly clean yourself. It's the method that I use and prefer, when using soaps you want to use soaps that won't upset your ph balance causing infections such as BV (Bacteria vaginosis) , yeast infection etc.. I love the honey pot soap ! its ph balanced just for your lady bits and its all natural , find the soap that works best for you. Below is a video where I show how to properly wash the vagina and discuss the way you want to wipe , that goes for using the restroom as well !
Do you smell that sis? its body odor ! Have you ever smelled a little off , or even way off no matter how much you washed? Yea? it happens to the best of us ! its time for a change maybe a lifestyle change. Lets talk about on oh the most common culprits, the usual suspect BV ! You ladies know what I'm talking about that watery thin discharge with that not so nice odor sometimes mild and sometimes straight from the sea with slight irritation Some of us have been lucky enough to have not experienced it and some of us have had a monthly battle with it. I've been there sis and the number of things that can cause this upset in Ph balance can feel endless! lets go down the list of things that can cause BV
Hormone imbalance
Birth control
Sex partner / Multiple sex partners
Condoms
Soap
Unhealthy diet
Improper hygiene / cleaning methods
Low water intake (the vagina can't cleanse itself if you don't give your body the water it needs to function properly.
Menstrual cycle
and so much more, now let's get into solutions. First things first I am not a doctor, and these are my suggestions from personal experience and research. If you are not familiar with BV I suggest you see a gynecologist first and they can explain to you what it is and how its to be treated. My ladies that are familiar with BV and you struggle with it even after seeing your gyno I have some solutions, I find that the boric acid capsules work wonders but be careful about your brand they're not all created equally. I prefer love wellness boric acid capsules called "the killer" ! they're great and you don't have to constantly take them every month because they didn't really do the job the first time. In addition to those capsules you want to drink plenty of water 2 to 3 liters of water a day, if you can stand a gallon you'll see benefits not only in your vagina but in your health over all. Probiotics ! do your research and find the ones you think are best! Last but not least Vitamin C!!! You can do a quick google search on how all these things help your vaginal health. I hope this helps some of you , and if you have any questions please feel free to reach out , judgment free zone and we have to stick together ladies. Stay tuned for hygiene part 2 where i'll go more in depth about other infections and more self care tips. I'm sending Mucho love 💕

Alexa
